Gary Harris's main practice areas include complex commercial litigation, antitrust and energy.

Mr. Harris has served as lead counsel in a variety of complex commercial disputes in federal and state court and arbitration, including class actions, breach of contract actions, and securities claims. Mr. Harris was lead trial counsel for a defendant hospital corporation in an antitrust suit brought by a competitor, which challenged the acquisition of a nationwide chain of hospitals. He obtained a directed verdict for that client. Mr. Harris brought suit on behalf of a public electric utility asserting that two independent power producers failed to satisfy their obligations to deliver electricity, thereby voiding their respective power purchase agreements. The settlement of that action resulted in a net present value savings in excess of $400 million to the utility and its customers, compared with what the independent producers claimed would have been due under the agreements. He recently filed an amicus brief in the United States Supreme Court on behalf of 55 law professors.

Before joining Boies, Schiller & Flexner LLP in 1997, Mr. Harris was a partner with the law firms of Duker, Barrett & Gravante and Rogovin, Huge & Schiller. Mr. Harris served as the Special Litigation Counsel for the United Food and Commercial Workers International Union and was an Adjunct Professor of Law at the Georgetown University Law Center, where he taught Conflicts of Law.
