David Boyd's main practice area is complex commercial litigation.

Prior to joining Boies, Schiller & Flexner in 2000, Mr. Boyd established and maintained his own firm, Comey, Boyd & Luskin. Mr. Boyd has been continuously engaged in private practice since 1976, primarily in a litigation and appellate practice. Mr. Boyd served as the Executive Assistant to Roderick M. Hills, Chairman of the Securities and Exchange Commission.

Mr. Boyd graduated from Vanderbilt University in 1964, where he pursued an interdepartmental major in Latin American Affairs, consisting of the study of Political Science, History, Spanish and Economics. He was awarded a Fulbright Fellowship to study Political Science in Buenos Aires, Argentina the following year. In 1973, Mr. Boyd received his J.D. from the University of Virginia School of Law, where he served as Executive Editor of the Virginia Law Review. Mr. Boyd served as a law clerk for the Honorable Carl McGowan of the United States Court of Appeals for the District of Columbia and, thereafter, for Associate Justice Lewis F. Powell of the United States Supreme Court.
