Thomas Higgs's main practice area is complex commercial litigation.

Mr. Higgs is currently representing a major chemical company under investigation by the U.S. Department of Justice, is involved in the representation of plaintiffs in multiple class-actions against manufacturers of computer components for antitrust violations, and is also involved in the representation of multiple hedge funds for claims against multinational banks for assisting Enron in acquiring multi-billion dollar loans that were concealed through fraudulent accounting practices.

Since joining the firm, Mr. Higgs has been actively involved in representing clients in a wide-range of matters that include: the successful representation of the Yankees Entertainment and Sports Network in an expedited arbitration against Cablevision, the largest cable operator in the New York metropolitan area; the internal investigations of various corporations, together with related securities litigation and government investigations; the representation of the State Farm Insurance Company in a products liability action against certain appliance manufacturers; and assorted civil and criminal matters in federal and state courts.

Prior to entering the practice of law, Mr. Higgs worked for the Japanese Ministry of Education in Japan, as a purchasing manager for an international food company, and as a manager in the copper trading department of Mitsubishi International Corporation.

Mr. Higgs was a judicial extern for the Honorable Thomas E. Mercure, New York State Supreme Court, Appellate Division, Third Department.
