Joseph Gomez's main practice areas are general corporate law, mergers and acquisitions, business organizations, including LLCs and partnerships, and domestic and international federal taxation.
Mr. Gomez began his career in the Miami office of the Chicago firm of Karon, Morrison and Savikas, Ltd. Prior to joining the firm, he was a Partner in the Corporate and Tax Law Department of the Miami firm of Zack Kosnitzky, P.A.
He has authored a number of articles and lectured on a variety of business and tax law issues. His speeches include "Structuring the Business Venture: Balancing the Competing Interests" sponsored by The Florida Bar (Business Law Section); "LLCs and LLPs", sponsored by the National Business Institute; and "Choosing the Right Entity for Conducting Business" sponsored by The Greater Miami Tax Institute.
Mr. Gomez is currently Vice Chair of the Florida Bar, Business Law Section Corporations, Securities, and Financial Services Committee, and a Member of the Executive Council of the Florida Bar Business Law Section. In addition, he is a Member of the Legal Opinion Standards Committee of the Florida Bar, and recently served as a Member of the Drafting Committee of Florida Revised Uniform Limited Partnership Act (2005).
