Jarrod Reich's primary practice area is complex litigation.

At Boies, Schiller & Flexner LLP, Mr. Reich has represented a wide range of clients in diverse matters in state and federal court and in domestic and international arbitration involving, among other areas, intellectual property, Constitutional law, labor relations, antitrust, contracts, and commercial law. Among the clients for and matters in which Mr. Reich is or has been heavily involved include:

  • NASCAR, Inc., in achieving complete dismissal of a suit brought by a former stock car driver who failed the sanctioning body's substance abuse policy;
  • Pfizer Inc., in achieving a complete dismissal of a declaratory judgment action brought by a another drug manufacturer, as well as in other advisory and litigation matters;
  • YES Network, in a commercial arbitration concerning its television programming;
  • Kerzner International, owner of the Atlantis and One&Only resorts, in a trademark action;
  • Multiple former clients of "business advisor to the stars" Kenneth Starr, in various matters relating to recovery of assets and losses caused by Mr. Starr's illegal activities;
  • Fox Paine & Co., in litigation and arbitration relating to various commercial matters; and
  • Waterford Group, in a suit concerning the application of the City of Hartford's labor relations ordinances to the group's operation of a hotel developed as part of the revitalization of downtown Hartford, as well as in other advisory matters.

Mr. Reich is very active in the firm's pro bono practice.  Most recently, he assisted a young girl from Guatemala attain legal permanent residence after she fled her country and her abusive father so she could purse an education in the United States.  He is also part of the legal team representing gay and lesbian couples in their constitutional challenge to California's ban on same-sex marriage.  Previously, Mr. Reich assisted a young mother obtain a divorce from her abusive husband in conjunction with Hope's Door.

Throughout law school, Mr. Reich volunteered as a law clerk for the Metropolitan Davidson County (Tennessee) Public Defender. During law school, Mr. Reich provided pro bono assistance through the Vanderbilt University Legal Clinic and served as a contributing writer for the First Amendment Center, writing a series of online articles on various issues concerning the internet and free speech.

Mr. Reich is an Adjunct Professor of Law at the Benjamin N. Cardozo School of Law, where he teaches Lawyering Skills and Legal Writing to first-year law students, as well as a Judicial Externship Seminar to complement second- and third-year students' work with state and federal trial and appellate judges.  He has received an "Excellent" rating as a professor from his students.
