Dean Harvey's practice area is litigation, with a focus on antitrust and class actions.

Prior to joining the firm, Mr. Harvey clerked for the U.S. Department of Justice's Antitrust Division in the Transportation, Energy, and Agriculture Section in Washington, D.C., and in the Division's San Francisco Field Office.  Mr. Harvey's work for the Division included civil merger review and criminal investigations.  His government experience also includes work for the U.S. Department of Labor's Employee Benefits Security Administration, where he enforced federal employee benefits laws and counseled employees and employers.

Mr. Harvey graduated from the University of Minnesota, Twin Cities, where he received his B.A. in Political Science and Philosophy.  He twice received the Selmer-Birkelo Scholarship, the College's highest honor, and was a research fellow at the Yale University Graduate School of Arts and Sciences.  Mr. Harvey received his J.D. from the University of California at Berkeley, where he was an Articles Editor for the California Law Review.  Mr. Harvey's comment, Anticompetitive Social Norms as Antitrust Violations, won the William E. Swope Antitrust Writing Prize.
