Scott Wilson is a partner in the firm's New York City office. His practice focuses on government and internal investigations, white collar defense, and complex civil litigation. Representative clients include Pacific Investment Management Company LLC, Goldman Sachs & Co., and NIKE, Inc.
Mr. Wilson advises companies facing government investigations, often with an international component. He represents clients before the U.S. Securities & Exchange Commission, the U.S. Department of Justice, the U.S. Commodity Futures Trading Commission, the New York Attorney General’s Office, self-regulatory organizations, and in connection with parallel foreign inquiries. He has led internal investigations in Europe and South America in Foreign Corrupt Practices Act (FCPA) and other white collar matters.
Mr. Wilson previously served as Senior Advisor and Special Counsel to New York Attorney General Eric T. Schneiderman. As a member of the Attorney General’s executive staff, Mr. Wilson helped oversee the 650-lawyer office and negotiated settlements with financial institutions. In the courtroom, he served as trial counsel and argued appeals in enforcement proceedings brought under New York’s anti-fraud, consumer protection, and corporate governance statutes. Mr. Wilson also conducted investigations into securities fraud under the Martin Act and into misconduct by officers and directors of not-for-profit organizations regulated by the Charities Bureau.
Following his government service, Mr. Wilson was appointed by the Illinois Department of Insurance as an Examiner in multi-state examinations of insurance companies.
Mr. Wilson is a graduate of Harvard University and the Columbia University School of Law. He received a joint degree in international law from the Université Paris 1 Panthéon-Sorbonne and the Institut d'études politiques de Paris (Sciences Po).
