Alec Schultz's main practice area is complex commercial litigation.
While at Boies, Schiller & Flexner LLP, Mr. Schultz has participated in the representation of a class of shareholders pursuing securities law claims against Halliburton Corporation. He has also assisted in the defense of The Bank of New York Mellon against claims brought by a foreign government, where the litigation was settled for less than 1% of claimed damages.
Currently, Mr. Schultz represents The American Express Company in defense of antitrust claims alleging violations of Section 1 and 2 of the Sherman Act. He is also participating in the defense of The Bank of New York Mellon with regard to class action and individual claims relating to the Bank's securities lending business.
Prior to law school, Mr. Schultz served as a counter-terrorism officer in the Central Intelligence Agency's Directorate of Operations. In that capacity, Mr. Schultz planned and implemented operations against a high-profile terrorist group on behalf of the United States government. He was the recipient of the Director's Award for Exceptional Performance.
