Elliott Seiden is Counsel in the firm's D.C. office.  He focuses his practice on aviation regulatory compliance and counseling before federal regulatory agencies, and antitrust counseling in the aviation sector.

Mr. Seiden joined the firm after holding a variety of positions in private practice, with U.S. domestic airlines, and the federal government.  Most recently, Mr. Seiden served as a partner at Garfinkle, Wang & Seiden PLC where he advised aviation clients on a wide variety of regulatory and commercial issues.

Prior to that, Mr. Seiden served for ten years as Vice President, Law & Government Affairs for Northwest Airlines, where he supervised that airline's representation before the Congress, the Administration and federal regulatory agencies.  At Northwest, Mr. Seiden secured approval for a transatlantic joint venture with antitrust immunity between Northwest and KLM -- the first immunized international airline alliance -- and a business model that has become the standard for international airline joint ventures.

Before joining Northwest, Mr. Seiden served for five years as Vice President & Associate General Counsel at Continental Airlines Corporation, where he supervised that carrier's regulatory representation before the Transportation, State and Justice Departments.  Prior to joining the private sector, Mr. Seiden served for eleven years in the Antitrust Division of the U.S. Department of Justice, including eight years in which he held the position of Chief, Transportation Section.  In that position, Mr. Seiden supervised antitrust enforcement in all transportation sectors, including the airline, rail, ocean shipping and trucking sectors.

Mr. Seiden started his legal career serving as Bureau Counsel at the Civil Aeronautics Board representing the Bureau of Operating Rights in route allocation and airline merger cases.
