Duane Loft currently splits his time between the Firm’s New York and London offices, representing international companies, financial institutions, and investment funds in complex, often high-profile commercial litigation and white collar investigations.

Since joining the firm, Mr. Loft has been involved in some of its most important matters, including representing the National Basketball Association Players in their historic antitrust lawsuit against the NBA, and representing Starr International in multi-billion dollar litigation against the Government over the AIG bailout.  Other representative matters include:

  • Ongoing representation of Barclays in multi-jurisdictional litigation involving the London Interbank Offered Rate (LIBOR), including more than fifty actions advancing antitrust, Commodities Exchange Act, RICO, securities, and state law claims.
  • Several of the major securities cases of the last decade, including In re AOL Time Warner, Inc. Securities and ERISA Litigation, 02 MD 1500 (S.D.N.Y.), a multi-billion dollar securities class action arising out of the AOL-Time Warner merger; and In re Vivendi Universal, S.A. Securities Litigation, 02-CV-5571 (S.D.N.Y.), one of the only securities class actions ever to proceed to trial. 

Mr. Loft has particular experience representing large financial institutions in white collar investigations, both in the U.S. and U.K.  He has experience facing a variety of regulators and enforcement agencies, including the SEC, DOJ, CFTC, FTC, and the U.K. FCA.

Prior to joining Boies, Schiller & Flexner LLP, Mr. Loft spent five years as an associate at the law firm Cravath, Swaine & Moore LLP.
