Boies, Schiller & Flexner was honored with an Outstanding Antitrust Litigation Achievement in Private Law Practice award by the American Antitrust Institute for its work on In re Municipal Derivatives Antitrust Litigation, an MDL challenging alleged bid-rigging and market allocation schemes involving the sale of municipal derivatives throughout the United States.
Partners Scott Gant and Jonathan Shaw, along with co-counsel from Hausfeld and Susman Godfrey, filed an initial complaint in 2008 and reached settlement agreements totaling $100 million with six remaining defendants in 2016. In total, the team achieved a settlement amount of $223 million for the class.
