Reporting on a press conference held by Michael Moore, Harvey Weinstein and David Boies, on June 11, 2007 at BSF's New York City offices. BSF is defending Moore in an investigation by the US Treasury Department's Office of Foreign Assets Control ("OFAC") arising out of Moore's widely publicized visit to Cuba to film a portion of his new documentary, "Sicko," a critical examination of the U.S. health care system. At the press conference, BSF Chairman David Boies released a letter sent to OFAC demanding information about the basis of the investigation, and the persons who participated in initiating it. "We're prepared to go to court to stop this discriminatory attack," Boies said, asserting that the Treasury Department was retaliating against Moore because of his political views. The press conference received news coverage around the world.
