BSF partner Magda Jimenez Train was one of 50 women chosen as part of a highly selective process to participate in the Executive Leadership Program for Latina Lawyers.
The Hispanic National Bar Association (HNBA) has partnered with the Association of Corporate Counsel (ACC) to implement this executive leadership training program for Latina legal professionals, which includes attorneys from the private sector and several corporate chief legal officers. This exclusive program is being offered as part of the ACC's Value Challenge Initiative and speaks to the mission of the HNBA's Commission on the Status of Latinas in the Legal Profession of furthering the advancement of Latinas in the Profession. In addition to providing an excellent networking opportunity, the program is intended to arm Latina lawyers with the practical knowledge to enhance their client service skills, including legal process improvement and legal project management, knowledge management, change management, and negotiating alternative fee structures.
The Executive Leadership Program is expected to run for one year and consist of three training sessions. The first training session was held in Minneapolis, Minnesota on September 7th and 8th, where the nominees had the opportunity to collaborate with a top notch faculty in an interactive "Master Class" on Value Based Law Firm Management Skills.
"Latinas, which make up 7% of the total U.S. population, only make up 0.4% of partners at law firms, and are the lowest representation of any racial or ethnic group in the legal profession," explained Ms. Jimenez, who's based in the Firm's NYC office. "This program is an important part of a broader initiative to increase Latina representation and success in the legal profession and I am honored to be part of this exclusive group and part of this important initiative."
