Partner Steve Davis Installed as President of the Dade County Bar Association

BS&F partner Steven W. Davis, based in the Miami office, was elected the 94th president of the Dade County Bar Association (DCBA), and installed June 4, 2010. The DCBA is the largest voluntary bar association in Florida, and works to serve both legal professionals and the general public through various programs and initiatives.

During Steve’s one year tenure as president, he will focus on creating job opportunities for lawyers in Miami-Dade County by establishing a Lawyer Referral Service to match client needs with attorneys. The program, currently being developed, will begin October 1, 2010.

Additionally, while the DCBA Legal Aid Society and its award-winning Put Something Back program continues to provide pro bono services to the poor, Steve will seek to help raise money for these programs that have been hard hit by public funding cuts. The programs deliver more than $7 million worth of free legal services a year to Miami-Dade’s most needy in housing, domestic violence and children’s issues.
