Nessa’s practice focuses on high value and complex commercial litigation and arbitration.

She has particular experience representing clients in domestic and international arbitration under the UNCITRAL and ICC Arbitration Rules and in a diverse range of commercial litigation cases, including class actions. 

Her experience includes working with clients in the energy, retail, property, financial services, and technology sectors on a wide range of commercial disputes, including contract, regulatory, competition, cybersecurity, and construction disputes. Prior to joining the firm, Nessa practiced at a top-tier law firm in Sydney, Australia.

Nessa’s recent experience includes:

  • Acting on potential litigation in the U.K. relating to cryptocurrency matters
  • Representing a Middle Eastern telecommunications company in its set-aside application before the DIFC courts concerning an award arising out of an arbitration under the ICC arbitration rules
  • Acting on the global enforcement strategy of a multibillion-pound U.K. judgment
  • Representing a supermarket retail giant in its defence of class action proceedings*
  • Representing the owners of a solar farm in a commercial arbitration under the ICC arbitration rules concerning construction delay and liquidated damages*   
  • Representing a coal mining company in a litigation concerning alleged breaches of a marketing services contract*
  • Representing the non-executive directors of a property development company in a litigation defending allegations of shareholder oppression*
