Teresa’s practice focuses on commercial litigation and appeals in federal and state courts around the United States. She has experience litigating false claims act cases, contractual disputes, class action, antitrust, product liability and other complex commercial disputes.  

Most recently Teresa was a member of the successful trial team in Harman v. Trinity Industries, which resulted in a multimillion dollar verdict in favor of the client.

Prior to law school and before joining Boies, Schiller & Flexner, Teresa was an investigative reporter.


Among the significant litigation matters that Teresa has participated in over the last few years are the following:

  • Representing a qui tam plaintiff in an action against Trinity Industries for fraud involving the sale of guardrail end terminals that had not been approved by the federal government, resulting in a judgment of more than $600 million
  • Representing a false claims act plaintiff in an action brought against defense contractors
  • Representing several insurance companies in actions brought against power saw manufacturers for selling defective power saws, including the appeals of those actions
  • Defending a leading financial institution in a matter alleging antitrust violations
  • Serving as appellate counsel to insurance companies in asbestos litigation
  • Representing a commercial plaintiff in a landmark First Amendment action challenging state censorship of commercial advertising
  • Successfully appealing an adverse judgment obtained by a commercial developer in a contractual dispute with a major retail chain
  • Representing a corporate plaintiff against broker-dealers for securities fraud arising from the sale of auction rate securities
