Boies Schiller Flexner helps its clients resolve disputes facing investment banks, corporations, hedge funds, and governments. Combining legal insight with commercial acumen, we use the law to drive solutions to our clients’ most complex challenges.

A team of dispute lawyers resides in our London office, complementing our international practices in arbitration and investigations. We employ creativity and ingenuity to resolve the extremely complex issues facing clients in high-stakes financial and business disputes, including distressed debt investments, investments in special situations and emerging markets, sovereign debt investments, securitizations, and complex finance arrangements.

We provide our clients leanly staffed teams that provide focus and efficiency together with substantial leverage available through collaboration with our colleagues in New York and Washington D.C. Our practice combines partners directly engaged throughout the duration of a case with the knowledge and strength of a deep international bench.

Our experience includes representations of plaintiffs and defendants in the English High Court and the execution of international litigation strategies across the globe. We successfully obtained a judgment in favor of a group of creditors holding €450 million of debt issued by the Spanish conglomerate FCC,  with far-reaching implications for insolvency laws in the region. On behalf of Canary Wharf Noteholders, we won a judgment demonstrating that an issuer cannot avoid or structure around their obligations, furthermore resulting in a payment of £169 million plus accrued interest to the noteholders. We also represented the Kurdistan Regional Government in U.S. and international litigation and arbitration relating to a dispute with the Iraqi government over the right to produce and export oil, successfully obtaining the dismissal of numerous claims brought against the KRG.
