Ryan’s practice primarily focuses on product liability and complex commercial litigation. His ability to identify winning strategies from the outset and to execute those strategies from the start of discovery until a final resolution makes Ryan a value to each of his clients.

Ryan has worked on a broad range of significant matters, including defending lawsuits brought against Philip Morris USA for injuries allegedly caused by smoking. He was also part of a team that represented the law firm of Proskauer Rose in a professional negligence action that resulted in a six-week trial. Ryan has taken and defended over 100 depositions, has been an active member of 12 trial teams, and has considerable experience preparing trial counsel for all aspects of trial presentation and strategy.

In addition to defense work, Ryan is also actively involved in representing plaintiffs in In re: Takata Airbag Products Liability Litigation, which has resulted in over $1 billion in settlement to date.

Ryan’s recent experience includes:

  • Representing Philip Morris USA Inc. in numerous actions around the State of Florida concerning injuries allegedly caused by smoking
  • Defending Proskauer Rose, an Am Law 50 law firm, against claims of professional negligence
  • Representing plaintiffs in In re: Takata Airbag Products Liability Litigation against various automakers stemming from the use of defective Takata airbags in their vehicles
  • Securing a substantial pre-suit settlement for the widow and minor child of a foreign national killed while riding a bicycle in Miami Beach
  • Representing compounding pharmacies in a lawsuit against one of the nation’s largest pharmacy benefit management companies stemming from the termination of provider agreements
