On October 25, Ben Love will deliver the keynote speech for a panel entitled “The evolution of investment standards: towards more demanding regulations?” at the XXI General Congress of the International Academy of Comparative Law in Asuncion.
The panel will explore ongoing trends to limit the scope of international investment protection and preserve policy space for States to regulate and limit liability for measures impacting foreign investment. Ben’s keynote will focus in particular on the role of the United States in contributing to this trend of altering the liberalized international investment protection regime implemented in the 1990s.
