U.S. District Judge Richard J. Sullivan granted BSF’s motion to dismiss, with prejudice, a lawsuit against firm client George Steinbrenner brought by Robert Gutkowski, former president of Madison Square Garden Corporation.  Gutkowski’s suit alleged that Mr. Steinbrenner breached a purported oral agreement relating to Gutkowski’s future role in the YES Network, the primary broadcaster of New York Yankees baseball games.

The AmLaw Litigation Daily quoted BSF partner Chris Duffy on the decision:  “The issue of whether Gutkowski's claims had any merit just wasn't a close question. Judge Sullivan's opinion makes it clear, and that's why this case lasted five months from start to finish."
