Pascual is a trial and appellate lawyer who handles a wide range of complex civil matters. His diverse practice includes mortgage-financing litigation, energy law, Constitutional law, and commercial contract disputes. Pascual also has significant experience advising clients and litigating suits brought under the Helms-Burton Act.

Pascual’s experience includes:

  • Representing defendants in many of the leading Helms-Burton actions, including some of the first-ever filed under the statute, with multiple cases successfully resolved at the trial-court level and in the Eleventh Circuit Court of Appeals
  • Representing a leading home-mortgage subservicer in a three-week federal jury trial, resulting in a multimillion-dollar jury verdict for the client
  • Successfully challenging an unconstitutional Texas law that blocked a client’s entry into a competitive market, resulting in a win at the Fifth Circuit Court of Appeals
  • Defending several companies in a consumer-protection civil action brought by the Attorney General of Texas
  • Successfully vacating a class action certification on appeal from a Florida state court action arising from Hurricane Irma 
  • Securing the dismissal of a class action in a 6 billion-dollar receivership case, and successfully defending that result in the Fifth Circuit Court of Appeals
  • Representing a major energy company in multiple successful appeals to the Florida Supreme Court
  • Defending an international law firm in an eight-week jury trial, concluding with the exclusion of the opposing party’s main damages theory and a settlement thereafter
  • Advocating pro bono on behalf of children and pediatricians in a landmark civil-rights action that resulted in sweeping improvements to Florida’s Medicaid Program
