Ryan is a litigation partner in the firm’s Miami office, which was recognized by the Daily Business Review as Florida’s Litigation Department of the Year (2025).
Ryan’s practice focuses primarily on product liability, complex commercial litigation, and high-stakes disputes of all kinds, including trust litigation on behalf of high-net-worth individuals and multimillion-dollar attorney’s fee disputes.
Ryan has been an integral member of more than 15 trial teams where he attended multi-week trials in state and federal courts across multiple jurisdictions. He has taken and defended over 150 depositions, argued at countless hearings, and prepared trial counsel for all aspects of trial presentation and strategy. His experience also spans both the defense and plaintiff side of the courtroom. He has defended Fortune 500 companies, including Philip Morris USA in dozens of cases alleging smoking-related injuries, and represented Am Law 50 firm Proskauer Rose in a professional negligence action that culminated in a six-week trial.
On the plaintiff side, Ryan was part of the team representing individuals in In re: Takata Airbag Products Liability Litigation, which has yielded more than $1 billion in settlements against automakers, and he continues to serve as counsel in In Re: ZF-TRW Airbag Control Units Products Liability Litigation pending in federal court in California.
In addition to product liability and commercial disputes, Ryan has developed significant experience in trust and estate litigation. He has represented beneficiaries in contested family trust matters, including successfully removing offending trustees, as well as claims of fraud by one spouse against the other in the context of divorce proceedings.
Ryan has also worked in the area of judgment enforcement, pursuing execution efforts on behalf of Chevron Corporation. Additionally, he has significant experience in attorney’s fee litigation, defending against multimillion-dollar fee claims. He has handled evidentiary hearings from start to finish, giving him a unique perspective on the strategic dimensions of attorney’s fee litigation.
