Mike is a partner in the firm’s Washington D.C. office. Mike’s practice focuses on complex commercial litigation, class actions, and antitrust.

Mike’s antitrust experience includes representing both plaintiffs and defendants in private litigation in venues throughout the United States, including federal and state courts, and trial and appellate courts. Mike has extensive experience in complex, multiforum litigation, including large multidistrict litigation (MDL) and class actions. Mike has also represented clients before federal and state agencies, including U.S. Department of Justice, the Federal Trade Commission, and state Attorneys General, in civil and criminal conduct investigations, and in connection with merger reviews and asset transactions.

Mike also has extensive experience advising clients on internal investigations, corporate compliance, and electronic discovery matters. Clients value Mike’s creativity, attention to detail, and sound judgment.

Mike has been recognized as a Rising Star in Antitrust by Washington D.C. Super Lawyers magazine. Mike participates in the D.C. Bar Pro Bono Program. Prior to law school, Mike played several years of professional golf.

Mike’s representative matters include:

  • Winning summary judgment for Delta Air Lines in connection with federal antitrust class actions seeking billions in damages concerning the imposition of fees for checked baggage
  • Winning dismissal of antitrust class action against Delta Air Lines by travel agents concerning changes to fare combinability rules
  • Defending Delta Air Lines in multidistrict class action litigation involving alleged collusion of air passenger service capacity in violation of Section 1 of the Sherman Act
  • Prosecuted group boycott and information exchange claims on behalf of SourceOne Dental Inc., against incumbent distributors of dental supplies. The case settled after a three-week jury trial
  • Defending online distributor of dental supplies against trademark infringement claims brought under the Lanham Act
  • Represented Barclays Bank PLC and Barclays Capital in putative class actions brought by entities which are alleged to have traded financial instruments tied to the London Interbank Offered Rate (LIBOR) and other benchmark interest rates
  • Represented Delta Air Lines in connection with its successful swap of takeoff and landing rights at New York LaGuardia and Washington Reagan National airports with US Airways
  • Represented airline industry trade association in federal rulemaking proceedings
  • Successfully defended DuPont and its subsidiary Pioneer Hi-Bred in nearly 20 federal and state class actions concerning the sale of genetically modified seeds
