Sashi brings over 23 years of experience handling complex commercial disputes, representing plaintiffs and defendants in federal and state courts and arbitrations in Florida and throughout the United States.

The leader of the firm’s professional malpractice group, Sashi advocates for law firms and attorneys in all aspects of their business, including legal malpractice claims and ethics complaints, law firm shareholder and employment disputes, and fee-splitting issues. For more than 15 years, she has represented one of the largest law firms in the world, securing case-ending dismissals and summary judgment in numerous matters. Her work on behalf of law firms has included precedent-setting appellate victories, which have impacted issues in this area of law relating to immunity and the recovery of fees and costs. In defending attorneys facing bar complaints, Sashi has also obtained multiple "no cause" findings from The Florida Bar.

Sashi also represents businesses and individuals in a broad range of commercial disputes, including contract matters, employment and competition issues, corporate governance disputes, fraud claims, and class actions. Comfortable on both sides of the "v," Sashi has worked to obtain hundreds of millions in settlements for Ponzi scheme victims and has also successfully defended law firms and businesses accused of fraud. Sashi is committed to pro bono matters, having worked on the firm's landmark case that secured better access to medical care for 2 million children in Florida.

Sashi is the administrative partner leading the firm's Fort Lauderdale office, where she has worked since 2002, and is deeply committed to mentoring the next generation of attorneys.

Clients and peers alike have recognized Sashi’s dedication and litigation results, earning her repeated listings in Best Lawyers in America and Lawdragon’s 500 Leading Lawyers.

Sashi’s recent experience includes:

  • Obtaining a complete summary judgment victory for one of the largest law firms in the world in a 70-plus defendant case that alleged fraud, conspiracy, RICO, and negligence; successfully defending that win on appeal in the Fourth DCA; and in the same case, obtaining an order that her law firm client was entitled to recover its fees and costs from the plaintiff, and affirmance on appeal in a key fee-shifting decision by the Fourth DCA in Spanakos v. Hawk Sys., Inc. (4th DCA 2023)

  • Winning dismissal of all claims in a dispute between two law firms over multidistrict litigation recoveries—freeing millions to be released to her law firm client—and currently defending that win on an appeal to the Eleventh Circuit

  • Securing affirmances in a trio of appeals from dismissals of electrocution claims against longtime BSF-client Florida Power & Light; and in a class action, helping FP&L defeat claims by a putative class of Florida residents for power outages during Hurricane Irma

  • Negotiating a global resolution of a derivative action and development dispute for client Fisher Island Community Association Inc.—the association for the wealthiest zip code in the country—where, following a trial, Miami-Dade Circuit Court Judge Michael Hanzman said the settlement passed the fairness test with “flying colors”

  • Obtaining a summary judgment victory for her law firm client in multimillion-dollar claims arising out of the sale of a railroad company, where the company claimed the firm should have included different terms in the asset purchase agreement

  • Defending a prominent law firm in high-stakes claims arising out of the Stanford Ponzi scheme, and eliminating a major part of the case through a broad attorney immunity ruling from the U.S. Court of Appeals for the 5th Circuit in Troice v. Greenberg Traurig, L.L.P. (5th Cir. 2019)

  • Pursuing fund administrators on behalf of a class of investors in the largest of the Madoff-feeder funds—and ultimately securing over $200 million in settlements

  • Contributing to the firm’s landmark, decades-long pro bono case that secured improved medical and dental care access for 2 million Florida children on Medicaid
