Jay’s practice encompasses a wide variety of civil litigation in trial and appellate courts, regulatory proceedings, and arbitral tribunals. Jay has represented airlines, energy industry participants, and whistleblowers in some of their most pressing legal disputes.

Jay has experience handling all facets of civil litigation, including pleadings, document discovery, motions practice, depositions, briefing, and trials. Due to his economics background, Jay often works closely with expert witnesses and is skilled at conveying economic analyses to tribunals through written and oral advocacy. Jay also has a particular interest in e-discovery and has led document collection and review efforts for the firm in numerous matters.

In law school, Jay was a member of the Georgetown University Law Center Barristers’ Council, where he served as Director of the Alternative Dispute Resolution Division. Jay is currently the head coach of Barristers’ Council teams competing in professional baseball, basketball, and football negotiation competitions.

Jay’s recent matters include:

  • Representing a whistleblower in False Claims Act litigation against a regional health system
  • Representing a third-party airline in litigation surrounding JetBlue Airways’ proposed acquisition of Spirit Airlines
