Val Bianchi-Demicheli

Val represents private and public entities and individuals at all stages of litigation and on both sides of the “v.” His experience spans across a wide array of industries and practice areas, including complex commercial litigation, contract disputes, class actions, arbitrations, mediations, white collar defense, government litigation, and criminal matters. He was trained in both Europe and the United States and is comfortable with multijurisdictional disputes.

Val also advises high-net-worth individuals, corporations, partnerships, funds, and governmental entities on a variety of matters, from pre-trial negotiations and motion practice to appeals. 

Before joining the firm, Val served as a judicial law clerk to the Hons. William L. Campbell Jr., Waverly D. Crenshaw Jr., Eli J. Richardson, and Aleta A. Trauger of the U.S. District Court for the Middle District of Tennessee. Prior to clerking, he practiced at a large law firm, where he focused on high-stakes civil and criminal litigation for clients ranging from Fortune 500 companies to individuals. While in law school, Val externed for the California Attorney General’s Office, where he gained significant experience with criminal appeals.

Val’s experience includes:

• Second chairing multiple arbitrations, including one that led to a $11.4 million victory against a NASDAQ-listed company
• Serving on the Examiner’s team in the First Brands Group’s bankruptcy proceedings, taking orders directly from the Examiner, and assisting with investigating and uncovering one of the largest frauds in history, which required interviewing dozens of witnesses worldwide, handling millions of documents, and navigating questions of national security
• Helping secure the expedited dismissal of an involuntary bankruptcy matter and obtaining a $900,000 judgment for fees and costs in favor of the alleged debtor
• Representing a health insurer and its executives against one of the largest class actions in the history of Nevada and helping secure the dismissal of multiple defendants and claims
• Helping defeat class certification against a technology company listed on the S&P 500 index and compelling arbitration on an individual basis
• In private practice and as a judicial law clerk, working on high-profile matters that attracted significant media attention, including litigation involving the scope of presidential powers
