Val represents private and public entities and individuals at all stages of litigation and on both sides of the “v.” His experience spans across a wide array of industries and practice areas, including complex commercial litigation, contract disputes, class actions, arbitrations, mediations, white collar defense, government litigation, and criminal matters. He was trained in both Europe and the United States and is comfortable with multijurisdictional disputes.
Before joining the firm, Val served as a judicial law clerk to the Hons. William L. Campbell Jr., Waverly D. Crenshaw Jr., Eli J. Richardson, and Aleta A. Trauger of the U.S. District Court for the Middle District of Tennessee. Prior to clerking, he practiced at a large law firm, where he focused on high-stakes civil and criminal litigation for clients ranging from Fortune 500 companies to individuals. While in law school, Val externed for the California Attorney General’s Office, where he gained significant experience with criminal appeals.
