Sam represents companies and individuals in high-stakes litigation, investigations, and regulatory matters. Her practice spans complex commercial disputes, class actions, privacy and cybersecurity litigation, employment disputes, securities matters, and arbitration. She is particularly  experienced in coordinating strategy across parallel litigation, mass arbitration, investigations and regulatory proceedings, helping clients navigate significant legal, operational, and reputational risk while advancing their business objectives.

An experienced trial lawyer, Sam has played key leadership roles in high-profile litigation, including a three-week federal jury trial that resulted in a $425 million verdict. She has significant deposition experience and routinely handles all phases of litigation, including case strategy, dispositive motions, discovery, witness preparation, trial preparation, mediation, and appeals.

In addition, Sam represents survivors of sexual assault and harassment. These matters require trauma-informed witness preparation, extensive factual investigation, and the ability to litigate highly sensitive claims involving institutional misconduct.

Sam’s experience includes:

  • Obtaining a $425 million federal jury verdict as a member of the trial team in a high-profile privacy class action against Google
  • Defending client in multiforum litigation and regulatory matters arising from data breach
  • Representing covered persons in litigation enforcing statutory privacy rights under New Jersey's Daniel's Law, including claims against online data brokers and litigation involving constitutional, jurisdictional, and emerging privacy law issues
  • Defending employer in more than 20 individual and class action matters involving discrimination, harassment, retaliation, wrongful termination, defamation, tortious interference, breach of contract, unfair competition, wage and hour, and PAGA claims
  • Defending companies in the transportation, automotive services, and hospitality industries in wage and hour class actions and PAGA litigation
  • Representing employers in labor and employment disputes before state and federal courts, arbitration, and administrative proceedings (including, National Labor Relations Board; OSHA/Cal OSHA; California Civil Rights Department; California Labor Commissioner)
  • Conducting an internal whistleblower investigation on behalf of a public university involving allegations against a former employee
  • Advising employers on California employment law, including employee handbook reviews, severance agreements, workplace investigations, and other employment counseling matters designed to mitigate litigation risk
  • Serving as first-chair in a FINRA arbitration on behalf of a financial services client
  • Representing broker-dealers, registered investment advisers, and financial professionals in securities litigation, employment disputes, and FINRA arbitration proceedings
  • Representing a qui tam relator in a False Claims Act action against a large healthcare system, resulting in a successful settlement
  • Representing one of the nation's largest health insurers in multiple healthcare reimbursement disputes arising from alleged COVID-19 testing fraud
  • Representing companies in complex commercial disputes involving breach of contract, business torts, unfair competition, and other high-stakes business litigation
