BSF achieved an important milestone for survivors of Jeffrey Epstein’s abuse, securing final approval of Bank of America’s $72.5 million settlement for individuals who were sexually abused or trafficked by Epstein and his associates.
U.S. District Judge Jed Rakoff of the Southern District of New York approved the settlement, resolving allegations that Bank of America helped facilitate Epstein’s sex-trafficking operation. The settlement will compensate a class of survivors who were abused or trafficked by Epstein and his associates between June 2008 and July 2019.
In granting approval, Judge Rakoff praised BSF’s role, stating: “No amount of money could fully compensate Mr. Epstein’s victims for the harms they’ve suffered, but it is through the efforts of class counsel in these cases before me, not exclusively but primarily, that substantial compensation has and will be received by the great many victims.”
